In 2021, Salaam Baalak Trust launched the Restoration, Follow-Up, and Family Strengthening Program with the goal of providing comprehensive support to children reintegrated from our shelter homes. The program places a strong emphasis on physical follow-up in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, ensuring ongoing care and monitoring. Additionally, it aims to create a safety net to prevent children from running away, promoting their long-term well-being and stability.
Program Objectives:
Home Visits: Our dedicated team has visited the homes of over 700 children since the program's inception. These visits are crucial for assessing the home environment and ensuring that children are adjusting well after leaving the shelter homes.
Continued Education: We place a strong emphasis on the importance of education. Our team monitors each child’s academic progress, working closely with families and local schools to ensure that children remain enrolled and engaged in their studies.
Preventing Child Labour: A key focus of our program is to protect children from falling into the trap of child labor. We conduct regular follow-ups to ensure that children are not being exploited and that they continue to enjoy their childhood.
Strengthening Families: Beyond individual child follow-ups, we aim to empower families through counseling and support. By addressing the underlying issues that led to the children running away, we work towards creating a stable and nurturing home environment.
